Aissa L. Barrera earned her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas in 2019. She graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into St. Mary’s distinguished John M. Harlan Society, an honorary organization that recognizes students who have excelled academically and graduated in the top 10% of their class.
While pursuing her law degree, Aissa wrote for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. Aissa began working for Hilliard Martinez Gonzales LLP (“HMG”) in June 2015 and gained experience as a legal secretary and paralegal prior to law school. During her three years at St. Mary’s, Aissa clerked for HMG gaining valuable practical experience in a variety of practice areas, including automobile accidents and wrongful death cases.
Aissa began her legal education before law school at Texas State University where she received her Master of Arts in Legal Studies in 2016 with a paralegal certificate and mediation certificate. Prior to that, Aissa received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 2013.
Since joining HMG, she has continued her success. Her skills have gained recognition from her peers and clients alike.
