She also serves as vice-chair of her church’s board of trustees and was formerly a board member and chair of the legal committee for her historic neighborhood association

In her younger years, she was a strong competitor in the American Quarter Horse Association show circuit, culminating in being named NYATT Western Pleasure Champion at the 1994 All American Quarter Horse Congress
