An Truong is an attorney at Simmons Hanly Conroy and part of the firm’s Complex Litigation Department. Located in the firm’s New York City office, An works with a team of attorneys to give clients a voice against corporations who prioritize profits over individuals’ health and safety. Her practice is focused on advocating for the rights of consumers against large corporations, including class actions involving product liability, consumer fraud, and data privacy violations.

“I became an attorney because I wanted the legal tools and knowledge to empower people to stand up for what’s right when they’re taken advantage of,” An said. “Honest, hardworking people deserve representation who will stand beside them in that fight, and I am privileged to do that.”

An is experienced in all stages of a class action lawsuit from client relations, to taking depositions and negotiating settlements. She recognizes that each client is unique and deserves individualized attention.

“I feel very fortunate to have the chance to work on cases that have real value to society and improve the lives of others,” An said. “There are several crucial steps in a class action lawsuit, and at times those can be difficult to navigate. Ensuring that my clients understand each of those steps and are informed as possible along the way is very important to me.”

Currently, An holds leadership positions in several nationwide complex legal actions. She was appointed to the law & briefing committee by the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the multidistrict litigation In re: Allergan Biocell Textured Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2921, she is a member of the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee for In re Google RTB Privacy Litigation, 20-cv-02155, and she is a member of the Plaintiffs’ litigation team for Calhoun, et al. v. Google, LLC, 20-cv-05146.

Prior to joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, An worked as a senior appellate court attorney with the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, where she researched and analyzed complex legal and procedural issues for appellate justices and completed confidential reports. Prior to that, she was a senior attorney with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), where she litigated complex child abuse and neglect cases, and managed and trained junior attorneys.

In 2005, An graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in history with a minor in political science from The Ohio State University. She graduated cum laude from the New York Law School with her J.D degree in 2009. While in law school, she served as review editor for the school’s Global Human Rights Bulletin. An became a member of the New York State bar in 2010 and is currently a member of the New York City Bar Association, New York Women’s Bar Association, Asian American Bar Association of New York and the Federal Bar Association.
