About Angela White McIlveen — Over 19 years of North Carolina legal experience
Angela White McIlveen is a member based in Gastonia, NC. Angela has over 19 years of legal experience. Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 1 client review.
The first thing you will notice when you meet me is that I genuinely care about my clients and the clients of the Firm. Maybe it’s because I remember going through my parents’ nasty divorce when I was 6 years old. I know how my parents' divorce impacted my life and growing up with my dad when kids didn’t grow up with their fathers definitely shaped my life. In case you are wondering, no my mom wasn’t a bad person. My dad just had the best attorney in town. I also have the unique perspective of having gone through my own custody trial and having sat in the witness seat in court. I know how crazy going through a divorce or custody lawsuit can make you, and I know how painful it is to have your life torn apart.
My colleagues say that I’m aggressive but I would say that I’m just passionate about my clients and what I do. Whether I am in or out of the courtroom, I give it my all. I know that while I love being the courtroom, it isn’t always the best place for my clients’ cases. I’m always open to resolving cases outside of court.
Since graduating from law school, I have focused my practice exclusively on litigation including discovery, court motion hearings, deposition, trial, mediation, and appeals. As a partner at the McIlveen Law Firm, I handle cases in family law including child custody and support, divorce, alimony, adoption, separation, domestic violence, and equitable distribution. I also supervise cases that are handled by our Associate Attorneys. We handle cases in Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Hickory, Lenoir, Lincolnton, Mathews, Monroe, Shelby, and Statesville. In July of 2017, we will open a new office in Raleigh, N.C. to help clients who live in Durham, Greensboro, Raleigh, and surrounding cities. We have plans to open additional offices in Charleston, S.C., Greenville, S.C., Atlanta, G.A., and Washington, D.C. in 2018. When I’m not full speed ahead in the courtroom and running a growing law practice, I love spending time with my children, grandson, and my husband, Sean.
