Anthony Coyne is President and Managing Partner of Mansour Gavin, where his legal practice centers on business law, municipal law, zoning and planning, eminent domain, real property, and litigation.
Well-versed in urban affairs, Coyne has authored several papers and held significant positions, including Executive Assistant to the Director of Transition for Cleveland Mayor Michael R. White. Additionally, he served as a Judicial Extern for Judge Alice M. Batchelder, who is now senior status to the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Coyne has been a member of the Board of Directors for both the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Ohio Canal Corridor. Currently, he holds the position of Chairman of the Board at St. Vincent Charity Community Health Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Trustees for Bluecoats, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to supporting the families of Cuyahoga County safety officers who have lost their lives or become disabled in the line of duty.
A sought-after speaker, Tony frequently lectures at various events and organizations. His speaking engagements include the National Business Institute, Lorman Education Series, the Cleveland and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Ohio Planning Conference, the CLE International Seminar on Eminent Domain, the Urban Land Institute, the Cuyahoga County Law Director’s Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He addresses topics such as eminent domain, zoning and land use, and municipal law.
Mr. Coyne is deeply involved in the community, having served on the Planning Commission for the City of Cleveland from 1990 to 2015, including 15 years as Chairman. Appointed by Mayor Frank Jackson, he also chairs the Group Plan Commission of the City of Cleveland and continues to hold a board membership. Under his leadership, the Group Plan Commission undertook significant projects, including a multimillion-dollar public spaces improvement and usage plan for downtown Cleveland. This initiative led to the $50 million renovation of Public Square, enhancements to the downtown MALL, and the inception of fundraising and initial design efforts for a pedestrian bridge connecting the MALL to the lakefront. The reopening of Public Square in 2016 received national acclaim for its design, use, and programming.
