Barry L. Johnson

Barry L. Johnson is a Shareholder of the Firm. Mr. Johnson was the founder of Johnson Davis's predecessor, BARRY L. JOHNSON, PA, which he started in 1996. For over 40 years, Mr. Johnson has represented banks, national companies and CEOs, prominent local construction companies, developers, property owners’ associations, and numerous other businesses and individuals in litigation, mergers, transactions, zoning, development and land use matters, and other general legal services.

Mr. Johnson is a near life-long resident of Beaufort County, having grown up in Beaufort and graduated from Beaufort High School in 1964. After graduating cum laude from Harvard University, BA- Government, in 1968, Mr. Johnson received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1971. Earlier in his career, Mr. Johnson was very active in civic affairs, charitable organizations and local politics. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Resolution of Fee Disputes Board from 1984-2004, serving as its Chairman from 1989-2004, was a past member of the South Carolina House of Delegates, and former President of the Beaufort County Bar Association. More recently, Mr. Johnson has been in the Christian Ministry, serving as Associate Pastor of Bible Faith Fellowship Church, and has co-led mission; work in the Dominican Republic. He is married to Kerry Johnson and has four children and seven grandchildren. Mr. Johnson is a former member of the U.S.A.R. (Captain, Field Artillery).
