About Brian C. Porter
Brian Porter focuses his practice on real estate, construction, environmental & toxic tort, business, and other litigation. Brian represents developers, homebuilders, general contractors, subcontractors, and manufacturers in matters involving construction defects, construction liens, bond claims, and contract disputes. He has defended clients against multimillion-dollar claims involving breach of contract, indemnity, breach of express and implied warranties, building code violations, payment disputes, deceptive and unfair trade practices, and various negligence claims. Brian has defended and prosecuted construction defect claims in state court, federal court, and in arbitration. He also represents a variety of public and private clients in other complex litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Brian served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary S. Scriven of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. While clerking with the federal district, Brian managed an assigned docket, drafted proposed orders in civil and criminal cases, advised the judge on legal issues, and assisted the judge in preparation for and at trials and hearings. Brian attended law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and earned membership in the prestigious Order of Coif.
