Brit Mercer has devoted her career to defending individuals accused of crimes and has represented hundreds of people in municipal, district, superior, and federal courts throughout Washington. She is currently the president of the Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice and is a past vice president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She has significant experience defending DUIs, vehicular assault and homicide, serious felony matters, domestic violence, and misdemeanor charges. Brit has presented on all facets of trial practice and ethics at CLEs throughout Washington for the Washington Defender Association, WACDL, Seattle University and the Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice and the Washington State Bar Association. In 2019, she presented at the NCDD Summer Session at Harvard Law School. When not in a courtroom, Brit can usually be found riding her horse, Testify.
