About Bruce L. Scheiner

Bruce L. Scheiner: A Commitment to Justice

Bruce Lawrence Scheiner embodies the core values of caring, responsibility, respectfulness, and dedication to rectify injustices and safeguard the rights of others. Born in 1945, the same year his father, a New York City firefighter, responded to the tragic Empire State Building fire caused by a B-25 Mitchell bomber crash into its 79th Floor during heavy fog.

His unwavering commitment to protecting the rights of individuals stems from a strong working-class ethic and a deep-seated desire to be of assistance to those in need. Following his high school graduation in Queens, New York, he embarked on a journey into the legal profession, driven by the pursuit of tangible and compassionate justice for those who lack a voice.

Bruce L. Scheiner commenced his academic journey as an undergraduate student at the University of Miami in 1963. To support his education, he worked as a parking valet at the Hialeah Tropical Gulfstream horse racing tracks. After completing his studies at the University of Miami's Law School in 1970, Mr. Scheiner initiated his career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida.

Early in his career, he and his wife, Cheryl, relocated to Southwest Florida in search of a promising place to build their careers and raise a family. The choice to settle in Fort Myers was driven by practicality, as they found a local motel that accepted the young lawyer's gasoline credit card as payment for lodging.

Upon establishing roots in Fort Myers, Mr. Scheiner and his wife established a small office in downtown Fort Myers, now recognized as the River District. Initially handling a diverse range of cases, he recognized the pressing need for robust representation for individuals injured in various types of vehicle accidents, including automobile, motorcycle, truck, uninsured motorist incidents, and pedestrian injuries. Furthermore, Mr. Scheiner identified that his expertise could benefit those harmed by incidents such as rape or assault on business premises, slip and fall injuries, dog bites, defective products, and wrongful deaths.

Mr. Scheiner demonstrated a readiness to represent victims in any case involving negligence or intentional harm by individuals or businesses, even when pitted against large corporations and insurance companies.

Passionate Advocacy

Since 1970, Mr. Scheiner has handled over 25,000 cases. His relationship with his clients transcends the typical attorney-client dynamic; he considers each individual he represents as a friend. Their injuries become his injuries, and their pain becomes his pain.

Mr. Scheiner's dedication to representing his clients remains unwavering. His work ethic extends to six and seven-day workweeks. He personally reviews every case and meticulously selects each client the firm represents. Mr. Scheiner personally supervises every case, collaborating with experienced associates and support staff, bringing over four decades of personal injury experience into the negotiation room and the courtroom.

A Family Commitment

Beyond their legal practice, both Mr. and Mrs. Scheiner, along with their associates, actively support various community organizations and initiatives. These include MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), the Eden Foundation, which aids autistic children and adults, the Make a Difference Scholarship program that supports local students, and strong advocacy for motorcycle safety and rights. They also actively contribute to organizations like the Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition.

In August 2007, Mr. Scheiner's son, Preston John Scheiner, joined the firm as an associate attorney, a move Mr. Scheiner regards as the crown jewel of his legal career. He relishes the opportunity to work alongside his bright and passionate young son, who shares his vision for fair and compassionate representation for those who believed they had no voice.
