About Casey Langston Lott
In May 2002, Booneville personal injury attorney Casey Langston Lott received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University, where he graduated cum laude.
In December 2004, Casey received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, graduating with honors.
After passing the February 2005 Mississippi Bar Exam, Casey began practicing law with his father, Duncan Lott. He was admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Mississippi and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2005. He was also admitted to practice law in Alabama in 2006.
During his tenure at Ole Miss, Casey was elected Vice President of the Ole Miss student chapter of the Mississippi Association for Justice in 2002 and 2003 and was elected President in 2004. He was also a member of the University of Mississippi School of Law Moot Court Board in 2003 and 2004.
Casey placed in the top four in both the 2003 Moot Court Board Appellate Advocacy Competition and the 2004 Stein Reynolds Dalephite Trial Advocacy Competition. He was also one of three students selected to represent Ole Miss in the 2003 National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 2004, he received the Francis S. Bowling Scholarship in Law, which is awarded annually to a University of Mississippi law student who has excelled academically and demonstrated leadership ability and trial advocacy skills.
Since entering the practice of law, Casey has secured multi-million-dollar awards on behalf of his clients and has been actively involved in trial litigation and complex civil litigation matters, including personal injury cases, products liability claims, pharmaceutical litigation, medical malpractice lawsuits, and automobile accident cases.
Casey has also been actively involved in Multi-District Litigation (MDL) and was awarded a spot on the Discovery Committee in the Bausch & Lomb ReNu with MoistureLoc MDL. He was later appointed Chairman of the Subscribers’ Track State Liaison Committee in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Antitrust MDL in Birmingham, Alabama.
In addition to his civil litigation work, Casey is actively involved in felony criminal defense representation. He also serves as the attorney for the Booneville School District.
Casey is an active member of the American Association for Justice and the Mississippi Association for Justice (MAJ). In 2005, he was elected to serve on the MAJ Board of Governors. Casey was later named Young Lawyer of the Year for 2005–2006 by the Mississippi Association for Justice.
In 2011, Casey was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, recognizing him as one of the top attorneys in Mississippi (no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected for this honor).
In 2012, Casey was named one of Mississippi’s Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association and received the “Leadership in Law” award from the Mississippi Business Journal.
In 2014, Casey was named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Mississippi regardless of age and was appointed Chairman of Mississippi’s Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association. Casey is also the Past President of the Prentiss County Bar Association.
