Charles M. Magerman

Biography

Chuck Magerman is a member of Baker & McKenzie's North American Transactions Group focusing on complex cross-border and multijurisdictional M&A, finance transactions and other corporate commercial matters. He focuses on corporate law as well as M&A and finance transactions. Chuck has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada in 2024 and as a Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyer - Independently rated lawyers. He has lectured on international business transactions and is an active speaker at numerous conferences on cross-border transactions and on doing business in Canada.

Chuck is very active in pro bono and other community service. He is a member of the Toronto office's Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Committee, he has and continues to serve on the Board of Directors of certain community charitable organizations, and was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his service to the community.

Practice FocusChuck focuses on corporate M&A as well as banking and finance matters. He advises clients on a broad range of corporate matters, particularly on complex multijurisdiction mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations (including global carve-outs and post-acquisition integrations) and other matters of corporate and partnership law. He also assists clients with secured and unsecured loans — as well as other forms of credit facilities — with particular focus on cross-border and multijurisdictional financings.
