About Christina Karam

Christina Karam’s practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense, regulatory investigations, and complex commercial litigation. She has represented institutional and individual clients in a diverse range of matters involving alleged violations of securities, fraud, and bribery laws and alleged breaches of contract, as well as advising on compliance programs and remediation. She has experience at all phases of litigation and regularly represents clients in DOJ and SEC matters, and well as in investigations by state attorneys general. Among her notable recent engagements at the Firm, Ms. Karam was part of a trial team that defended a former credit union executive on bribery, gratuity, and conspiracy charges in the Southern District of New York, achieving acquittal on the bribery and conspiracy charges. Ms. Karam was also appointed by the Eleventh Circuit as pro bono amicus counsel to defend on appeal a district court judgment imposing sanctions on a state attorney general’s office in connection with misrepresentations in death-penalty litigation.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Karam clerked for the Honorable James C. Dever III of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the Honorable Ed Carnes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Ms. Karam also worked as a senior litigation and enforcement associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.

Ms. Karam graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2010. She earned her law degree, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, in 2013 from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as the Chief Managing Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal.

Ms. Karam is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
