He regularly represents general contractors, construction managers, and other industry participants in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation.
Chris advises clients on a wide range of construction and commercial litigation issues, including delay and impact claims, breach of contract disputes, lien foreclosure actions, extra work claims, subcontractor defaults, contract negotiation, project administration, and bidding-related matters. His work involves both public and private projects, including infrastructure and commercial developments throughout New York and beyond.
Chris has litigated matters through all stages of dispute resolution and has tried multiple cases to verdict. His experience includes public sector projects involving water treatment facilities, railways, bridges, utilities, transportation systems, and other infrastructure, as well as private commercial developments across various industries.
Prior to joining Peckar & Abramson PC, Chris served as senior counsel in the Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department. In that role, he represented and advised City agencies and public entities in commercial litigation matters, including construction disputes and public procurement issues in state and federal courts. His work frequently involved delay and extra work claims on public works projects such as school construction, highways, and utility projects, along with public bidding challenges, real estate disputes, contract negotiation, and social service contract litigation.
Chris also practiced in the New York City Law Department’s Tort Division, where he defended the City in municipal liability matters, including premises liability, labor law claims, negligent supervision, special duty, false arrest, and civil rights claims. This background informs his practical and strategic approach to litigation on behalf of construction and commercial clients.
