Biography

About Christopher C. Ross, Esq.

Chris has been employed as an attorney with the Charleston office of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC since 2011. He practices insurance defense litigation in areas of state and municipal government, employment, civil rights, products liability, toxic torts, construction, property damage, workers compensation, collections and bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, and digital and cyberspace law. He previously has worked as an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and he has worked for Stark County Legal Aid Society, The Housing Advocates, Inc., the West Virginia Attorney General, and Thompson / West Publishing as a WestLaw legal research specialist. Chris is licensed to practice law in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and the District of Columbia and he is an active member of Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Chris practices in a broad range of Insurance Defense Litigation, Governmental Litigation Defense, Appellate Advocacy, and Federal Black Lung defense. In addition to traditional litigation, Chris monitors each year's session of the West Virginia Legislature and prepares annual seminars to update PFFB&P clients on how the new laws will impact our practice and other areas of interest. Chris has been especially interested in staying up to date on how the scope of litigation, and legal rights and responsibilities, have changed in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chris is a member of the PFFB&P cycling team and has participated in the MS 150 Country Roads bike ride and other activities, such as the annual Duane Ruggier MS Golf Tournament, the PFF Craft Beer & Wine Silent Art Auction, and other activities to benefit the National MS Society and to raise funds and support for MS research. In 2017 Chris served as the Chairman of the MS Dinner of Champions honoring Stephen M. Fowler and raised in excess of $84,000 during the event.

Chris is a member of the WVU Alumni Band, Appalachian Gamers, the North American Scrabble Players Association, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Chris is an avid board gamer and enjoys teaching all sorts of people how to play modern hobby board games (not the games you grew up with). In 2019 Chris helped to establish PFFB&P's first Extra Life 24-hour tabletop gaming event (Team WV Fox) to benefit Cincinnati Children's Hospital, which raised $10,000 in it's inaugural year.

Chris is married to Angela Vance, and they live in the historic East End of Charleston, West Virginia with their twin children Henry and Alia. He's a former board member of Disability Rights of West Virginia, is a member of the East End Community Association, and has served as a Committee Member with the Charleston Main Streets East End Development Committee. Chris previously served on Boards and Commissions with the City of Kent, Ohio; the Summit County Prosecutor's Community Relations Committee in Akron, Ohio; and the Stark and Cuyahoga County Fair Housing Task Forces.
