Christopher E. Dorough

Chris Dorough, a shareholder at Carr Allison in the firm’s Birmingham (AL) office, is a trial attorney concentrating on the defense of workers’ compensation and other associated employment and tort claims. Chris counsels and advises clients on workers’ compensation matters and has successfully defended a broad range of clients, including national, regional and local retailers, insurance companies, self-insured employers, third-party administrators, group insurance funds and small businesses in the circuit courts that hear and decide workers’ compensation claims across Alabama.

An AV Preeminent® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell®, Chris was named a Top-Rated Workers’ Compensation Attorney and Rising Star for the state of Alabama in the 2010 and 2012 editions of the Mid-South Super Lawyers® magazine. He was recognized for his work and achievement in Insurance Defense and named to Birmingham magazine’s “Top Attorneys 2015” list. Most recent, Chris was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of workers’ compensation law.

Chris is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Alabama State Bar, the Employment and Workers’ Compensation Committees of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. Chris is also a frequent lecturer on workers’ compensation matters for the Alabama Department of Labor’s Workers’ Compensation Division, the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Organization and other national industry support and educational organizations.

Outside of the practice of law, Chris enjoys reading, traveling, the outdoors, cycling and spending time with his wife and their three children.
