Curtis B. K. Yuen

Curtis B. K. Yuen, Esq. is the President of Law Offices of Curtis B. K. Yuen, A Law Corporation, and has been a practicing attorney for the past 36 years. His law firm concentrates in estate planning, wills, trusts, probate, estate and gift tax advice, asset protection and business succession planning. Curtis is a former estate planning attorney of Carlsmith Ball, LLC (Hawaii’s largest law firm). Curtis is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an international group of lawyers skilled and experienced in the preparation of wills and trusts, estate planning, probate procedure, and administration of trusts and estates. Fellows are selected on the basis of professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities. Curtis is recognized in Honolulu Magazine as the “2026 Lawyer of the Year” for Trusts & Estates as determined by Best Lawyers in America. He holds an “AV” rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Rating System, which is the highest rating given an attorney who has reached the heights of professional excellence, and is named as one of Hawaii’s “Super Lawyers” for 2026 (2008-2010, 2014-2015, 2018-2025) (an honor given to only 5% of the attorneys in the state). Curtis is also listed in the Best Lawyers in America (2006-2026). Curtis frequently lectures before various groups on such topics as estate planning, probate, estate and gift taxes, and drafting techniques. Curtis is also a Certified Public Accountant and previously worked for Ernst &Whinney, CPAs (nka Ernst & Young). He is a past President and Director of the Hawaii Estate Planning Council.
