Dan Schy is a highly regarded family law attorney known for his dedication to clients and zealous advocacy in the courtroom. With nearly 20 years exclusively focusing on family law, he helps families navigate divorce, custody, spousal and child support, and domestic violence cases. Dan has a proven record of success in handling complex cases, especially those involving high-net-worth individuals, intricate property division and contested child custody matters.

Growing up in Northern Virginia, Dan is deeply rooted in the community he serves. He graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law. Before joining Tucker, Dan served as Chair of the Family Law Practice Group for Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV), a non-profit law firm offering pro bono legal assistance to those in need, including older adults, people with disabilities and those challenged by the costs of legal services. At LSNV, he was instrumental in developing a program that provides free legal assistance to hundreds of domestic violence victims each year.

Dan has been recognized as a top lawyer by Super Lawyers, a distinction awarded to just 5% of lawyers in each state. Beyond his practice, he actively contributes to the community and has served on the Advisory Board for the Safe Havens Supervised Visitation/Exchange Program, participated in Fairfax County’s Domestic Violence Network and provided information sessions at Artemis House, a shelter for families affected by domestic violence.
