David L. McAlister

David L. McAlister is a shareholder in Carr Allison’s Birmingham (AL) office. David handles a wide variety of legal matters including auto accidents, railroad claims (both FELA and crossing accidents), premises liability, insurance coverage, products liability, construction, commercial vehicle claims and workers’ compensation. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama and before the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

An AV Preeminent® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell®, David has also been selected to The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of insurance law, personal injury litigation and workers’ compensation. He is a member of the American and Birmingham Bar Associations, the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Defense Lawyers Association, the Montgomery Claims Association and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. David is a trained mediator and is listed on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster. Additionally, he is a member of The Neutral Solution which is a group of Alabama-based mediators that provide affordable mediation solutions in a variety of practice areas at locations across the state.

David earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (AL).

David has three adult children, a daughter and twin sons. In his spare time, he enjoys snow skiing and playing golf.
