David N. Baumgartner

David N. Baumgartner hails from Berne, Indiana, where his roots run deep, having graduated from South Adams High School before pursuing higher education. His academic journey led him to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Economics from Bluffton University, followed by a Juris Doctor Degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. Since his admission to the Indiana State Bar in 1985, along with the United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, David has been a dedicated legal practitioner.

His commitment to law extends beyond his professional endeavors. David actively participates in various legal associations, including the Adams County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association's Probate, Trust & Real Property Section and Elder Law Section, and the American Agricultural Law Association. Beyond his legal pursuits, David finds fulfillment in his family life alongside his wife, Tanya Lehman Baumgartner, sharing the joys of their three married children and six grandchildren.

Returning to Berne after his education, David and Tanya were drawn back to their hometown, where they remain actively involved in the community's growth and progress. Serving as both the Berne City Attorney and Geneva Town Attorney, David plays an integral role in contributing to the development of these communities. His engagement extends to civic involvement, holding positions such as a member of the Berne Rotary Club, President of Berne Community Development Corporation, and Board Chair of First Bank of Berne. He also served as a trustee at Bluffton University.

With a career spanning nearly four decades, David has honed his skill in pivotal legal domains, focusing on estate planning, estate administration, business organization and succession planning, and real estate matters. His passion lies in aiding clients through life's transformative moments, fostering direct interaction with them on a daily basis. Leveraging his wealth of experience, David stands ready to assist individuals navigating these critical aspects that touch many lives, offering seasoned guidance and support.
