Attorney Donald R. Williams, Jr. is the Founder andPrincipal Attorney of Reed Williams, A ProfessionalLaw Corporation. Throughout the years, Donald hasdedicated his time and talent to the communities hehas resided in along his journey—from boardmember and visiting law professor to youth footballcoach.Although Donald is a Carson, California native, he likes to say he was “born in California but raisedsouthern,” as his family instilled their strong Louisiana and Texas heritage in him from an early age.Donald attended the historically black university, Grambling State University, in Grambling,Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies and a Bachelor of Artsdegree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from Grambling State University, Donald was employedas a litigation paralegal and, later, a litigation support specialist, in the Los Angeles office of Kirkland& Ellis LLP. When Donald’s desire to become an attorney became too much to overcome, he movedto New Orleans, Louisiana, and began law school at Tulane University Law School, where he earnedhis Juris Doctor.While in law school, Donald noticed a need to build up Tulane’s Black Law Students Association.Inspired to make this change, Donald became the president of Tulane’s Black Law StudentsAssociation and the 2L class president of Tulane’s Student Bar Association. Donald devoted his timeand talent to increasing the visibility and experience of Tulane’s Black law students, and he alsoencouraged Tulane Law School’s Dean and Admission Office to admit more Black law students.After law school, Donald obtained experience on both sides of the aisle. Donald began to practice lawas an attorney at the Bohm Law Group, Inc. and, later, The Rosa Law Group, where he receivedextensive legal training and represented employees in wrongful termination and employmentdiscrimination cases. Then, prior to opening his own practice, Donald was employed by WeintraubTobin Chediak Coleman Grodin, where he provided advice and counsel and litigation services toclients from a diverse range of industries. As the Principal Attorney of Reed Williams, Donaldprosecutes private and public sector employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage andhour violation cases in California.In 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, Donald was named a recipient of The National BlackLawyers’ “Top 40 Under 40” Award for the state of California. The award recognizes the nation’s toplawyers under the age of 40 who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, including legal prowess,leadership, and community involvement. In 2024 and 2025, Donald was named a recipient of TheNational Black Lawyers’ “Top 100” Award for the state of California. The award recognizes thenation’s top 100 lawyers who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, including legal prowess,leadership, and community involvement. Additionally, Donald was selected to Super Lawyers’Northern California Rising Stars list in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, an honor reserved for thoselawyers who exhibit excellence in practice, and only 2.5% of attorneys in Northern California receivethis distinction. Lastly, Donald has been recognized in the 2024 and 2025 editions of Best Laywers:Ones to Watch in America.
