Ellen Geske

Ellen Geske joined Davis Kelin LLC in January 2023 as an Albuquerque personal injury lawyer and became a Partner in 2026. Her practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice, legal malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and insurance bad faith claims. Ellen also handles matters involving appellate practice and insurance law, working with clients across New Mexico who have been harmed by negligence or professional misconduct.

Background: Ellen Geske has called New Mexico home since relocating to the state in 2006. Before moving to Albuquerque, she earned her undergraduate degree in political science with a minor in German studies from Southern Illinois University. After arriving in New Mexico, Ellen worked in several professional roles, including as an application and reporting analyst for an ophthalmic practice, where she gained firsthand insight into the healthcare field.

Ellen later attended the University of New Mexico School of Law, graduating cum laude. During law school, she served on the board of the Student Health Law Society, competed in the National Health Law Moot Court Competition, participated on the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Bioethics Committee, and clerked for a medical malpractice defense firm. These experiences helped shape her interest in litigation involving healthcare and professional accountability.

Career Overview: After graduating from law school, Ellen practiced at a medical malpractice defense firm, where she gained experience analyzing complex medical records and defending healthcare providers in litigation. Through that work, she realized her professional interests were more closely aligned with representing individuals and families who have suffered harm. She later served as a law clerk to the Honorable C. Shannon Bacon at the New Mexico Supreme Court, where she further developed her legal research, writing, and analytical skills while working on appellate matters.

Following her clerkship, Ellen secured a published opinion in the area of health law and has represented clients in appellate proceedings and civil litigation involving personal injury, legal malpractice, and healthcare-related disputes. Her work today includes Appellate Practice, Insurance Law, Legal Malpractice Law, Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs, and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. At Davis Kelin LLC in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ellen represents clients throughout the state in cases involving serious injuries, wrongful death, and professional negligence.

Ellen serves on the Board of Editors for the New Mexico Trial Lawyer Journal and is involved with the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association. She is committed to supporting initiatives that advance women in the legal profession and advocating for individuals and families across New Mexico.
