Erin A. Simmons

Erin A. Simmons is a matrimonial and family law attorney. She concentrates her practice on all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including divorce, property valuation and distribution, child custody, spousal and child support, complex discovery and privacy issues, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Erin has extensive experience representing clients in high-stakes litigation, working with forensic experts in valuation and custody matters, negotiating favorable settlements, and where necessary, representing clients at trial.

Erin previously worked as a commercial litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City where she represented financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in complex litigation with a focus on financial issues and discovery disputes. Applying her background as a commercial litigator to her matrimonial practice, Erin is well-versed in sophisticated financial issues and litigation practice in state and federal court. Erin previously practiced matrimonial law at several well-regarded firms in New York and Westchester.

Erin is a member of the American Bar Association where she serves as the Chair of the Tax Committee in the Family Law Section; she is also an active member of the New York State Bar Association.

Erin graduated cum laude from Case Western Reserve School of Law in 2009, where she served as an executive contributing editor on the Case Western Reserve Law Review, competed on both the National Moot Court Team and the Mock Trial Team, and served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Lesley Brooks Wells of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Erin started her legal career in her hometown as an attorney in the Family Law Unit of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.

Outside of her practice, Erin is an avid downhill skier who also enjoys road biking, running half-marathons, and international travel.
