About Evamarie Franco Fox — Over 12 years of Connecticut family law experience

Evamarie Franco Fox is an of counsel based in Westport, CT. The practice focuses on Family Law. Evamarie has over 12 years of legal experience. Currently practicing at Rutkin Oldham Contratto LLC.

Attorney EvaMarie Fox has extensive experience practicing all areas of family law, including divorce litigation, post-judgment modifications and enforcement actions, and prenuptial/postnuptial contract drafting. Attorney Fox started her career in a small civil law firm in Fairfield County in 2008, when she first began handling matrimonial matters. During her nearly fifteen years of legal experience since then, she has been personally involved in all aspects of representation from client intake through trial, working directly with clients for the entirety of their cases. Attorney Fox has litigated, negotiated, and mediated family law cases, often working with high net worth individuals and families. Her background also includes complex estate planning and employment contract negotiation and litigation. Her years of experience representing high net worth families in the estate planning context, as well as representing high-level employees and executives in the employment context, gives her a unique understanding of complex assets and compensation structures that other family law attorneys often lack. Attorney Fox also studied prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and divorce litigation under Attorney Vikki Ziegler, star of Bravo’s Untying the Knot, laying the foundation for a strong background in asset protection. Understanding that financial consequences are not the only considerations clients face during litigation, Attorney Fox takes a customized approach to each case in order to determine a strategy that would be best for each specific client’s needs and goals. She has significant experience working with families in crisis and handling heavily litigated matrimonial matters. Such experience includes guardian ad litem work at the Children’s Law Center of Connecticut, where attorneys represented minors in highly contentious custody disputes, often in high profile family court and criminal court matters. She worked on cases ranging from complex relocation proceedings to emergency removal proceedings, many of which involved sensitive issues such as child abuse, neglect, and termination of parental rights. She regularly partnered with the social work department, making home visits to meet with families in order to prepare evaluations and recommendations to the Court. Her public service work also includes volunteering at Sanctuary for Families in New York City, where she represented victims of domestic violence in divorce proceedings. Attorney Fox was honored with the Archibald R. Murray Service Award summa cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in recognition of her dedication of over 1,500 hours of pro bono work to victims of domestic violence and families in crisis. Super Lawyers Magazine named Attorney Fox on the Connecticut Rising Stars list as one of the top up-and-coming attorneys in Connecticut for 2018, 2019, and 2020. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of Connecticut lawyers receive this honor. The selection for this respected list is made by the research team at Super Lawyers (a Thomson Reuters business) which is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The Rising Stars lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers magazines, in leading city and regional magazines across the country. Attorney Fox was named on Marquis’ Who’s Who of American Women in 2020. For over a century, Marquis Who’s Who has served as a resource to the reference community, including to nearly every public and academic library in the United States. Seasoned female professionals are carefully selected on the basis of their proven leadership, achievement, and success. The women included within this title have demonstrated a degree of dedication, professional prowess, and leadership throughout their careers. In 2020, Attorney Fox was named as a recipient of the Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award for the State of Connecticut by The National Academy of Family Law Attorneys (NAFLA). NAFLA is an organization devoted to recognizing the top family law attorneys in the nation. The NAFLA uses a thorough selection process to determine the top family law attorneys in each state. The very few attorneys that are good enough to make the list have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of knowledge, skill, experience, expertise, and success in their practice of family law. Less than one percent of attorneys are recipients of this award.
