François Perron

Passionate about law and current events, François is a matchless speaker and negotiator. He is known for his sense of loyalty and for his availability and always demonstrates great respect for those with whom he works. Always up to date on current events, François skillfully heads big cases with a keen eye for strategy and law. His problem-solving skills and ability to find solutions help him find ways around any obstacle.

François joined the firm in 1990 while he was still a student and remained there after his bar internship and became partner in 1998. He led the firm’s marketing committee for several years and serves on the executive committee. He is greatly invested in the professional development of the firm’s up-and-coming talents and has served as a mentor and tutor for many lawyers throughout his career.

Since he began practising law, François has been focused on labour law, health and social services law, and disciplinary law. He represents employers by acting as a negotiator and advisor in the public and parapublic sectors, including the health and social services sector, the civil service and educational sectors, as well as the private sector. His negotiation skills were honed during his time at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and he is well-known for his astuteness as a strategist and his ability to rally various stakeholders around a common vision.

He is frequently called upon to act as strategic advisor for cases involving important questions, often relating to remuneration.Forever looking out for employers, François is always ready to speak before various authorities on matters of labour relations, specifically before grievance arbitrators and courts of justice. He also assists clients with extrajudicial settlement processes, such as mediation.

He serves as spokesperson during negotiations for a number of provincial agreements within the health and social services sector, the civil service sector, and the childcare sector. As such, he has served as spokesperson at the negotiation table with Québec’s medical specialists and with Québec’s medical residents. He was spokesperson for the CPNSSS (Québec’s health and social services employer negotiation committee) during negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement at the table of one of Québec’s unions of health professionals (FIQ). François has also served as spokesperson for Québec’s treasury council secretariat during negotiations with Québec’s state jurists. He also served as spokesperson during university sector negotiations.
