J. Timothy DiPiero

A member of DiTrapano Barrett DiPiero McGinley & Simmons, PLLC, Tim DiPiero spent six years (1977–1983) as an assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia in Charleston, WV before entering private practice. Prior to his tenure with DiTrapano Barrett DiPiero McGinley & Simmons, PLLC, he was a Member of DiTrapano & Jackson which he joined in 1983, and also DiTrapano Barrett & DiPiero, PLLC.

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1971 and earning his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1975, Mr. DiPiero served as a law clerk to Charles H. Haden, II for seven months while Judge Haden was Chief Justice of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. He clerked for another 18 months when Judge Haden was appointed to the federal bench as the U.S. District Judge for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.

Tim was a visiting professor for the American College of Rome, Rome, Italy in 1982, and has lectured in continuing legal education seminars since that time.

Tim's litigation experience encompasses virtually every kind of personal injury and wrongful death case, from auto and truck accidents to significant medical malpractices cases, product liability cases, and serious employment accidents (including coal mine injuries and fatalities, logging injuries and deaths, and oil and gas worker claims). He tried or settled many cases with significant recoveries.

Mr. DiPiero also is a highly experienced and skilled criminal defense lawyer, representing both white-collar and non-white collar clients.
