In 2001, Jim was recognized by the New Hampshire Bar Association for distinguished pro bono service. Jim has also received recognition as 40 Under Forty in New Hampshire.

Jim is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also admitted in the United States Supreme Court. Jim received his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1991. He graduated from Boston College, Suma Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
