He pursued his undergraduate studies at Valdosta State University, where he received his Bachelors Degree with Honors. Mr. Roth worked for a year in Public Service and then enrolled at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

While attending law school, he was a member of the Trial Competition Team, an organization consistently ranked among the top tier of competitive court programs across the country. Jim participated in several Mock Trial competitions while at law school, and won the Haley Trial Competition - the most prestigious competition in the program.

He served as a contributor of the Pro Confession, a publication of Cumberland Law School.

After earning his law degree, Jim began his professional career as an In-house Trial Counsel for State Farm Insurance Company. While there, he handled cases ranging from personal injury car wrecks to multi-defendant complex liability litigation.

Jim has also practiced defense work for several major insurance carriers including Allstate, Progressive, Farmers, and U.S.A.A. He has represented clients injured as the result of mis-filled prescriptions, tractor-trailer wrecks, and interference with business relationships.

Jim participates at all levels of local and national bar organizations and other law-related community activities including the Atlanta and Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Personal Injury Association.

In addition to his professional representation, Jim has lectured and presented seminars on complex discovery, witness interviews, case preparation, pre-filing investigation, informal discovery, computerized research, as well as various other topics.
