Jane M. Gooding

Executive Summary

Jane Gooding has been a partner in Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP’s Hamilton office since 2013. Before joining FWTA, Jane was a partner at Evans, Philp LLP in Hamilton.

Jane’s practice focuses exclusively on advice and advocacy to public and private sector employers in all areas of workplace law. Jane represents both union and non-union clients. Jane has extensive experience assisting clients in addressing labour law, employment law, human rights and disability management matters. She regularly advocates for clients during labour relations disputes, collective bargaining, interest arbitration and grievance arbitrations. She also regularly represents clients in judicial and administrative proceedings, including unfair labour applications, human rights applications and charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Jane has experience working with both private and public sector employers. Jane has extensive experience in providing advice to and advocating for clients in the education, healthcare and municipal public sectors.

Jane has spoken on all areas of employment law on behalf of the Hamilton Law Association, Ontario Bar Association and the Human Resources Professionals Association. Jane is the past Chair of the Today’s Family Board of Directors. She sat on the YWCA Hamilton Women of Distinction Committee in several recent years.

Jane received the Hamilton Spectator Readers' Choice Diamond Award for Best Employment Lawyer in 2017.
