Jared West

Jared West (he/him/his) is recognized with a “superb” 10.0 rating and numerous five-star reviews. He specializes in products liability, commercial litigation, and professional liability defense, representing clients in both Colorado state and federal courts.

Before joining Childs McCune, Jared honed his litigation skills at a prestigious firm in Boulder. There, he assisted individuals and businesses with a wide array of legal issues, including intentional torts (defamation, assault, battery, malicious prosecution, abuse of process, fraud, conspiracy, securities fraud, and deceptive trade practices), professional liability and negligence claims, partitions, evictions, personal protection orders, HOA disputes, construction defect claims under CDARA, trademark infringement, shareholder disputes, premises liability claims, administrative issues, and products liability claims.

Jared’s expertise also extends to commercial and real estate transactions. He has experience forming and selling businesses and drafting various contracts such as residential and commercial leases, independent contractor agreements, and construction contracts. Additionally, he has served the cannabis industry, assisting clients with licensing, regulatory, and compliance needs.

During law school, Jared gained diverse legal experience through roles at the Albuquerque Public Defenders Office (participating in a first-degree murder trial featured on ABC’s Dateline), the Lincoln City Attorney’s Office, the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office, a nationally recognized Band 1 cannabis law firm, a boutique Denver firm specializing in civil litigation and business transactions, and Kiewit Construction, a Fortune 500 company. He was actively involved in the Student Bar Association, moot court, and law review.

Jared is committed to giving back to the community. He volunteers as a scoring judge for the Boulder Mock Trial Competition and mentors a University of Nebraska law student. In 2024, he was also one of twenty Colorado attorneys selected to participate in the Colorado Bar Association’s Leadership Training (COBALT).

Residing in Boulder County with his wife, dog, and two cats, Jared enjoys all things food-related, inspired by his previous career in the hospitality industry. He loves cooking, trying new restaurants, and staying active outdoors in beautiful Colorado, whether running in the foothills of the Flatirons, playing guitar, or spending time with his family.
