Jason J. Reed

Attorney Jason Reed represents Wisconsin clients in a wide range of business and real estate legal matters.

Jason works with businesses of all sizes, from entrepreneurs and startups, to small and family-run businesses, to regional and national companies. He advises and assists business owners in all stages and in a variety of legal matters. Jason brings significant experience in helping businesses with planning, entity formation, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, mergers, sales and acquisitions, employment related matters, licenses, permits, contract drafting, contract negotiations, real estate and leasing, and tax-related issues.

Jason has worked with numerous startup businesses and industries including tech, manufacturing, restaurants/bars, and professional services with prioritizing legal needs and protecting their financial interests. He works with family businesses, including farmers, with business succession planning to next generation owners and third parties.

In real estate, Jason assists businesses, families and individuals with legal guidance in contracts, construction matters, property disputes, 1031 exchanges, home rentals, leasing matters, and condo or neighborhood association matters.

Jason serves as a member of the firm's Board of Directors, as a Shareholder, and Co-Chair of the Business Law Practice Group. In addition to his law degree, Jason earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and was an entrepreneur himself. He owned several businesses while attending school and understands what it is like to run a business, including real estate issues. Jason's combination of business and legal know-how is uniquely beneficial to his clients.

Jason, who serves clients in Murphy Desmond’s Madison, Dodgeville, and Janesville offices, has recently been recognized by his peers through rankings by Best Lawyers® in America in Corporate Law, and by Wisconsin Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" in Business/Corporate Law.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys golfing, hiking, and spending time with his family and dogs.
