Jay P. Mykytiuk

Jay P. Mykytiuk is a seasoned trial lawyer with nearly two decades of experience defending criminal and serious traffic cases in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. He is highly respected by both clients and peers, earning recognition as a Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer and being named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association. He holds an "AV-Preeminent" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-reviewed honor, reflecting his exceptional professional excellence. Mr. Mykytiuk began his legal career at the Arlington County Public Defender’s Office before moving into private practice, eventually co-founding Monument Legal. He regularly appears in federal court in Washington, D.C., and is a member of the Criminal Justice Act panel in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Beyond his practice, Mr. Mykytiuk serves as a peer reviewer for the U.S. Department of Justice and co-teaches a Continuing Legal Education course on criminal defense. He is dedicated to mentoring young lawyers and continuously improving his legal skills, particularly in DUI defense. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family in the DMV area.
