John C. Conti has served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. since 2013. He also chairs the firm’s Executive Committee and Medical Malpractice Defense Group . Mr. Conti is also admitted to practice in California and serves as the Managing Attorney of the firm’s Los Angeles office . He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and recently served as State Chair for Pennsylvania. In September 2025, Mr. Conti was appointed Chair of the Judiciary Committee for the College.
His practice specializes in the representation of hospitals and other health care providers, primarily in connection with the defense of professional negligence suits and related litigation. In over 40 years of practice, he has represented virtually every major health care institution in the region. This representation has included matters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and California. Mr. Conti has tried over 160 cases to verdict and argued over 25 cases in appellate courts, including nine appeals in recent years before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
In 2005, Mr. Conti was appointed Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he taught a course on expert witnesses until 2014. He has also served as an expert witness in bad faith litigation. He is a licensed airplane pilot, holding multi-engine, instrument, and glider certifications.
