About John F. Ledwith
John F. Ledwith is Of Counsel with the firm and now conducts file audits as a part of the firm's unique Quality Assurance Program.
John spent his entire career of over 45 years as a trial lawyer, trying numerous cases in the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania as well as New York. He has extensive experience in a wide range of litigation such as construction defects, architect and engineer professional liability, legal malpractice, truck and automobile collisions, admiralty, asbestos, liquor liability and more. He has represented national and regional construction and architectural firms in construction litigation and surety litigation. John has additionally defended lawyers in legal malpractice claims arising out of estate and estate planning matters.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
John is a member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations; the Defense Research Institute (DRI); and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC). At the FDCC, he founded and served as the first chair of both the ADR and Construction Law Sections. He was an active member of the Construction Law Committee of DRI and served as the DRI representative at the National Center for State Court conference on asbestos litigation. He also served as the Philadelphia Bar Association's liaison with the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Federal Court for its recognized Court-Annexed Arbitration program. In this role, he consulted with the Eastern District and other Federal District Courts in the implementation of their programs for Court-Annexed Arbitration.
John is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
