Jonathan Cantarero

Jonathan Cantarero is an attorney at Simmons Hanly Conroy who is based in the firm’s New York City office.

Jonathan has been practicing law since 2017, and through both his professional and volunteer endeavors, he has dedicated himself to protecting the rights of others.

Throughout law school, Jonathan worked with multiple organizations focused on improving the lives of New Yorkers, including New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI), Mental Hygiene Legal Services and Nassau Suffolk Law Services.

Today, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of helping others as a mesothelioma lawyer at Simmons Hanly Conroy.

Jonathan advocates on behalf of asbestos exposure victims who became sick through no fault of their own. He works with clients to stand up to asbestos companies that hid the dangers of asbestos from the public in order to protect their profits.

With a focus on motions and appellate practices during his career, Jonathan’s experience and knowledge are invaluable tools for clients navigating the complexities of asbestos litigation. Background & Experience

Jonathan earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from the State University of New York at Old Westbury in 2012.

He went on to complete his J.D. at the City University of New York School of Law in 2016, where he served as the Executive Articles Editor of the CUNY Law Review and participated in the Health Law Concentration.

Before joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, Jonathan served as an appellate court attorney for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department in Rochester, New York.

He also served as an assistant district attorney with the Appeals Bureau of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he collectively briefed and argued over 40 cases in various appellate courts. Jonathan previously focused his work on motion practice at a law firm representing victims of child abuse.
