Joseph P. Farrell

Joseph P. Farrell earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Chicago before completing his Juris Doctor, cum laude, at Georgia State University College of Law in 1997. He spent two years in private practice, followed by seventeen years as a partner at a boutique litigation firm. He now leads the Litigation Section at O’Kelley and Sorohan and serves as general counsel for the firm. Mr. Farrell concentrates on real estate and commercial litigation, handling boundary and easement disputes, landlord–tenant matters, HOA conflicts, and buyer–seller disagreements, as well as representing national companies that lease single-family residences. In commercial disputes, he advises small-to-medium enterprises on contract issues, noncompetes, buy-sell agreements, and creditor collections, and he has defended financial institutions and acted as outside counsel to the FDIC during the 2007–2008 Financial Crisis. A former military member, he previously chaired the Pro Bono Section of the State Bar of Georgia Real Property Section and arranged legal assistance for veterans.
