Josh Messer

Josh is a rising star in the firm’s litigation group. A background in molecular biology and chemistry helps him distill big ideas into scientific arguments to offer a fresh, academic approach to litigation. Josh has a particular interest in the way the law crosses over with science in the areas of election law, administrative law, and constitutional law. He has written about interactions between government-mandated Internal Review Boards and First Amendment principles.

Prior to joining Osborn Maledon, Josh completed clerkships at the Arizona Supreme Court, the Arizona Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona where he gained an inside view of state and federal law as well as the start-to-finish of the appellate process.

Josh graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. While in law school, he was an articles editor of the Arizona Law Review and was awarded the Dannie Lee Chandler Award for Advancement of First Amendment Values. He also served as a teaching fellow for several substantive constitutional law classes, distilling complex topics into easy-to-understand information.
