About Justin D. Santagata
Justin Santagata is a Partner in Cooper Levenson’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, based in the Atlantic City office. He represents clients in a wide range of complex commercial disputes, providing strategic guidance and hands-on advocacy at every stage of litigation.
Before joining Cooper Levenson, Justin practiced at a North Jersey law firm, where he tried more than 30 cases in state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration. He has also built a strong appellate practice, achieving 11 successful reversals in 16 cases, demonstrating his skill in presenting persuasive arguments and achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.
Justin’s experience spans commercial contract disputes, business torts, corporate governance matters, and other high-stakes litigation. He is known for his meticulous preparation, courtroom presence, and ability to navigate complex legal issues efficiently, consistently delivering results that protect and advance his clients’ interests.

Justin’s experience includes the writing of and challenge to local public referendums in New Jersey, as well as the defense of employment and labor claims in court, in arbitration, and before administrative tribunals, including New Jersey Public Employee Relations Commission, American Arbitration Association, New Jersey Civil Service Commission, New York Division on Human Rights, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
He has extensive litigation experience in business disputes under New Jersey and New York law, including forced buyouts, fraudulent transfers, successor liability, unpaid distributions, voting rights, and validity of operating agreements, with successful results totaling over $3,000,000.
Justin has experience in creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, including vacation of automatic stay, property of estate, and challenging a plan of reorganization after trial.
