Biography
About Kathy Krider Hart
Kathy Hart is a Minnesota family law attorney who combines significant litigation experience with a commitment to helping clients resolve conflict as efficiently as possible. Originally from the rural town of Cuba, Illinois, she earned a B.A. in International Relations from Bethel College in St. Paul and spent several years working in and around government before law school, including serving as a legislative aide in the Minnesota Senate. She also worked in government relations and corporate communications at West Publishing (now Thomson Reuters). Kathy earned her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, was admitted to practice in Minnesota in 2000, and later gained admission to the U.S. District Court in 2005. Her appellate experience includes a successful Minnesota Court of Appeals matter that resulted in a published opinion, Frank-Bretwisch v. Ryan. Kathy’s guiding belief is that clients should have a strong voice in determining what works for their families, not the court. She is a trained mediator and Rule 114 Qualified Neutral, and she regularly explores mediation and other creative solutions while remaining fully prepared to litigate when needed. She represents clients across Minnesota in divorce, parenting time, grandparent and third-party custody, paternity, support, property division, domestic abuse, and appellate matters.
