Ms. Capalbo, who joined Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski in 2008, was named a partner in 2016, and named Chair of the Family Law Department in 2021, has over 19 years of experience in matrimonial law. At our firm, she limits her practice exclusively to family law, including all aspects of divorce, custody, parenting time, alimony, child support and payment of college expenses, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, premarital agreements, relocation out of state, and adoption. In addition, Ms. Capalbo represents individuals involved in domestic-violence disputes, including those seeking restraining orders as well as those defending themselves against such orders.
Ms. Capalbo is also an experienced family-law mediator in both private and court-appointed divorce and post-divorce matters. In 2016, she completed 40 hours of training in order to be included in the roster of mediators for the Program for Mediation of Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases in multiple counties. Often, her expertise helps parties resolve concerns and reach amicable settlement agreements without the emotional and financial expense of litigation in court.
As a very active member of the legal community, Ms. Capalbo has been appointed as a guardian ad litem (GAL) by the Superior Court of New Jersey. In addition, Ms. Capalbo volunteers her time as a panelist on the Union County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel (MESP).
