Lauren D. Layne

Lauren D. Layne is an associate attorney with Baker Manock & Jensen and a member of the firm's Public Agency and Reclamation and Water practice groups. Her law practice includes various business transactional matters in the areas of flood control and irrigation districts, public agencies, agribusiness, real estate, and the practice of general water and environmental law, including CEQA and NEPA compliance. She also assists clients with land acquisitions and eminent domain proceedings. Lauren attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she majored in Soil Science, chaired the National Agricultural Ambassador Conference, and competed on the Livestock Judging Team. While attending law school, Lauren competed on the Mock Trial team, was a student ambassador, a member of the McGeorge Women's Caucus, and served on a number of campus-wide committees. Lauren was also a judicial extern for the Honorable Ronald B. Robie at the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, and served as a student member of the Anthony M. Kennedy, American Inn of Court. Lauren is a native of Porterville and has an agricultural background that includes farming, growing citrus and olives, and raising sheep. She was very involved in both 4-H and FFA, and received her American FFA Degree. In 2011, she helped re-form the Fresno Chapter of the Cal Poly Alumni Association, and in 2014 was elected to the Cal Poly Alumni Association Board of Directors to serve as the Regional Director for the Central Valley. Lauren is the Treasurer of the Central Valley Chapter of California Women for Agriculture and a member of the Fresno County Farm Bureau. She is a member of the Fresno County Bar Association, Fresno County Young Lawyers Association, and the Fresno County Women Lawyers.
