About Mary A. Parker

After earning her law degree from the University of Tennessee, Mary Parker began her legal career as Assistant to the District Attorney General in Tennessee's 21st Judicial Circuit. From time to time The National Law Journal selects and profiles ten trial attorneys nationwide who have established themselves as among the nation's best at establishing credibility with jurors. In 1990, Mary was named one of the top ten litigators in the United States by The National Law Journal.

This is the highest rating available and distinguishes Mary as having preeminent legal ability and very high general ethical standards. She is past president and co-founder of Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. In 1982, she founded the organization with Ralph Nader and other lawyers throughout the country. Today, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice is a national public interest law firm based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to using trial lawyers' skills and resources to create a more just society.

In 2006, Mary was a candidate for the Tennessee State Senate.
