Mary Carole Young is a trial attorney with RMP LLP in Little Rock, Arkansas, whose practice focuses on insurance law and litigation involving insurance matters, as well as medical malpractice defense. She represents physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and medical clinics in civil litigation. Her work also includes the defense of public, private, and nonprofit entities, including large healthcare systems across the United States, in medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability matters.

In addition to her litigation practice, Mary Carole conducts independent investigations for public school districts throughout Arkansas. She began this work in 2008 following the enactment of the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators and has been involved in this area since its inception in the state. As an investigator, she travels to school districts to interview students and personnel, evaluates complex allegations, and prepares detailed investigative reports that outline factual findings and potential next steps for district leadership.

Mary Carole grew up in Malvern and White Hall, Arkansas, and was co-valedictorian of the White Hall School District in 1998. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Ouachita Baptist University, where she served as student body president. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi in 2005. While in law school, she was a member of the moot court board, served as president of Phi Alpha Delta, and studied abroad at Downing College, Cambridge University, England.

In 2023, the Governor of Arkansas appointed Mary Carole to serve as a Special Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in the matter of Damien Echols v. State of Arkansas, commonly known as the West Memphis Three case. She has since been appointed as a Special Justice in multiple additional cases. In 2025, the Arkansas Supreme Court appointed her to its Committee on Civil Practice.

Mary Carole regularly speaks to Arkansas public school board members, superintendents, and administrators, including presentations at the annual Arkansas School Boards Association conference and lectures for individual school districts. She also presents to physicians, hospital administrators, and nursing staff on issues related to medical litigation and risk management. In 2023, she lectured fellows of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio regarding medical litigation in the United States.
