Michele Bartoli Cain earned her B.A. cum laude at North Carolina State University, and was inducted ito the following Honor Societies: Pi Sigma Alpha; Blue Key and then Golden Chain. Based on her university-wide contribution, she was named Outstanding Senior Sorority Woman.

While a law student at Wake Forest University, she excelled at advocacy through Moot Court, was an Editor of the American Society of International Law Proceedings and inducted into the Order of the Barristers.
