Nancy L. Giardina

Attorney Nancy Giardina's practice is devoted exclusively to helping families. She is committed to solving problems in a way that best serves her clients, being mindful of their emotional needs and financial limitations. Nancy is not your typical divorce attorney. She is a lawyer in collaborative divorce and family matters as well as a mediator. She also offers limited scope representation where she will draft letters on behalf of clients, draft family court petitions, advise individuals who are partaking in the mediation process, and assist self-represented litigants prepare for court proceedings. Nancy also drafts orders to divide pensions and other retirement accounts.

Nancy has practiced family law for over twenty-five years. She also has extensive experience in real estate, estates and trusts, bankruptcy and traffic matters which helps her serve clients in their family law matters. After years of practicing litigation, Nancy saw how the "typical" family suffered financially and emotionally when going to court. So, she decided to change her approach and focus on helping her clients and their families outside of the courtroom. Nancy was collaboratively trained in 2010 and was instantly attracted to the concept as a better way to handle divorce disputes versus the traditional process of litigation and settlements.

Nancy loves to learn and attends trainings in collaborative law, mediation, and peacemaking. She is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals which allows her to meet and learn with collaborators from all over the world. Nancy received a Bachelor of Science Degree, Summa Cum Laude, in 1987 from Syracuse University. She was a Syracuse University Scholar which was the highest honor bestowed on undergraduates. After working as a registered dietitian for several years, and starting a family, Nancy returned to Syracuse University's College of Law and received her Juris Doctor Degree in 1994.
