Nathan W. Chace

Mr. Chace concentrates in all areas of estate planning and administration, from the planning and drafting of inter vivos and testamentary documents through post-death administration of decedents' estates.

He is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, having formerly served as the state chairman. He is a past president of the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island and has served on numerous probate and trust committees of the Rhode Island State Bar Association. He has served on the Board of The Planned Giving Council of Rhode Island. Mr. Chace is a member of the Rhode Island bar and is included in "The Best Lawyers in America" and the New England Super Lawyers directory. He is a graduate of Brown University and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School in 1965. He continues to be active in a number of local charitable organizations and at Providence Country Day School where he served as a board member for 17 years and president for two years. He is a recipient of the Michael Metcalf Award, the school's highest award for volunteer service. Mr. Chace is a former member of the board of the Appalachian Mountain Club and remains an active climber who annually finds himself in a different part of the world. He is also a former top-ranked New England tennis player.

Mr. Chace is one of the founders of Chace Ruttenberg & Freedman, LLP. He was formerly a partner in the Providence law firm of Tillinghast Licht & Semonoff, LLP.
