Nicolas “Nic” Monarrez earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University – Sandra Day O’Connor Law School and a Bachelor in Governmental Studies with an Emphasis in Legal Studies from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Nic was a board member of the Student Bar Association and Chicano Latino Law Student Association during law school. While in law school, Nic gained valuable experience in criminal law through his involvement with the Post-Conviction Clinic. This early exposure to cases and clients helped Nic to develop a client-facing approach to his work and experience with criminal appeals. In law school, Nic worked with R&R Law Group, an aggressive and accomplished Criminal Defense Firm in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Nic started his career in criminal defense as an attorney with R&R Law Group. He worked in various Arizona counties, successfully defending his clients and winning multiple jury and bench trials.

In 2023, Nic and his family moved to the great city of Detroit to be near family.
