Pat focuses on handling complex cases, such as those involving catastrophic injuries, product liability, medical malpractice, traumatic brain injury and wrongful death. He also has extensive experience with cases involving Metro subway and Metro bus accident claims against WMATA. In fact, according to the Washingtonian Magazine, Pat is “the Washington lawyer you call when you want to sue WMATA”. That same publication also calls him a “personal injury lawyer who could be a poster boy for legal ethics and integrity”.
Pat is board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Over his nearly 40-year career, Pat has obtained some of the most significant jury verdicts in the history of Washington, DC on behalf of injured victims. Despite his success with complex, high-profile cases, Pat remains committed to providing personal service to all clients. Thus, once he accepts a case, he stays involved with every level of the claim. Every personal injury case is different, but he approaches each with the same passion and dedication with the goal of helping victims and their families put their lives back together.
Outside of work, Pat donates his resources and time to various legal and charitable organizations in the community.

Pat is licensed to practice law in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland. He is also a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers which is by invitation only and limited to the top one percent of the trial lawyers in the country. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which is also by invitation only, as well as the American Board of Trial Advocates. Pat has also served for more than twenty years on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.
Throughout his career as a personal injury lawyer, he has received honors and recognition including:

Legal Accomplishments
With more than three decades of civil trial experience, Pat Regan’s work has resulted in precedent-setting appellate decisions. This includes a landmark decision establishing dram shop liability in restaurants regarding serving alcohol to minors.
He has also obtained some of the largest verdicts and settlements in the history of Washington D.C. These include a settlement of $17 million for a defective product; an $11.5 million settlement for a young child injured in a race; an $11.3 million settlement for a woman severely burned as a result of a defectively designed automobile; a $7.3 million verdict for medical malpractice; and a $6.5 million verdict for a customer who was severely injured in a Walmart.
