Biography
About Patrick M. Roney
Patrick M. Roney is a founding partner of Roney & Knupp, LLC, where he focuses his practice on real estate law, along with select personal injury and other civil litigation matters. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Patrick still lives only a few miles from where he grew up, and remains close to the community that shaped him. His deep local roots and practical approach to problem-solving guide the way he works with clients—always focused on achieving results through clear communication, sound advice, and personal attention.
Patrick has been practicing law in Wisconsin since 2004, when he was admitted to both the State Bar of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. After starting his own firm in 2009, he teamed up with Attorney Evan Knupp in 2012 to create Roney & Knupp, LLC, a firm built on integrity, hard work, and a client-first mindset.
Over the years, Patrick has developed a broad real estate practice serving a diverse range of clients. He regularly helps buyers and sellers with residential and commercial closings, drafts and negotiates leases and contracts, and handles creative transactions, including seller financing. He also represents property owners and management companies in residential tenancy matters and advises landlords and tenants on commercial leasing and property issues. Real estate agents and their clients often turn to Patrick when a transaction involves something unusual or complex, knowing he’ll find a practical way forward.
Patrick’s interest in the law started early—during an internship with the Wauwatosa Police Department while he was a student at Pius XI High School. He earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and before attending law school, he served in AmeriCorps NCCC as both an EMT and certified wildland firefighter, and disaster relief worker. Patrick went on to earn his law degree from Marquette University Law School, attending on a full scholarship.
Today, Patrick lives in the community with his wife and three children. He remains deeply connected to the Milwaukee area and the people he serves there every day.
