Payton C. Rogers

Payton C. Rogers is a partner at DeCotiis and a member of the firm’s Litigation, Labor and Employment, Public Entity and Sports Law practice groups.

Mr. Rogers has represented public entities before state and federal courts and administrative agencies in a wide range of employment-related matters including unfair practices, breach of contract, and employee disciplinary actions. He also has extensive experience defending government clients in New Jersey Tort Claims Act matters, Law Against Discrimination claims, and 42 U.S.C. 1983 disputes.

Prior to joining DeCotiis, Mr. Rogers was in-house counsel for several public entities, specializing in litigation, redevelopment, condemnation and drafting contracts.

Previously, he practiced at a mid-sized New Jersey law firm, focusing on land use, labor and employment, and civil litigation, and served as zoning and planning board attorney for a local municipality. He clerked in the New Jersey Superior Court Family Division in Essex County.
