Peter H. Wickersham

Peter H. Wickersham practices Health Care, Corporate, and Business Transactions Law, specializing in the representation of physicians and other health care providers in connection with business transactions, entity formations, federal and state regulatory matters, physician recruitment and employment arrangements, and practice operations. He represents a wide range of health care providers across Texas, including individual physicians, physician group practices, independent diagnostic testing facilities, urgent care centers, medical research and development companies, and limited license practitioners.

He is the principal of Peter H. Wickersham, P.C., a BV Distinguished Rated, San Antonio, Texas boutique Health Law firm founded in 2003. Peter H. Wickersham, P.C. is also Of-Counsel to the law firm of Pesek & Helms, LLP, an AV Preeminent Rated, boutique Corporate, Real Estate, Health Law, Estate Planning & Probate, and Oil & Gas firm in Dallas, Texas.

Peter has specialized in the practice of Health Law for thirty years. Prior to founding his own firm, Peter was Senior Healthcare Attorney at The Kreager Law Firm, a San Antonio, Texas Corporate, Tax, and Health Law firm and an Associate Attorney in the Health Law Section at Cox Smith Matthews, Inc., also in San Antonio. Peter practiced health law and litigation in New Orleans, Louisiana prior to relocating to San Antonio in 1997.

In 2002 Peter became Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, one of only six attorneys in the San Antonio Metro Area who enjoys this distinction. Peter has been selected by his peers as one of The Best Lawyers in America© 2010 - 2026 in Health Care Law. In 2022, Peter was recognized by Best Lawyers® as the "Lawyer of the Year" in Health Law in San Antonio. In 2018, Peter was named one of the Best S.A. Lawyers in Health Care by Scene San Antonio magazine. Peter H. In 1992 Peter received his law degree (Cum Laude) from Tulane University Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a Legal Writing and Research Senior Fellow. In addition, Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with Minors in Government and Economics from the University of Virginia (1984).

Peter is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Louisiana State Bar, the Catholic Bar Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. From 2007 to 2009 Peter served on the State Bar of Texas Health Law Council. He currently serves on the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Health Law Exam Commission. Peter is also a former Member of the National Board of Directors and a Past President of the Catholic Bar Association.
